Location: Ideally Spain or Portugal (Mainly Remote)

✈️ Travel: Approx. 2–4 days per month

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join a large-scale data migration and transformation programme.

This is a hands-on role within a modern Azure environment, where you will be responsible for building and executing data pipelines, transforming data across multiple systems, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
Build and maintain data transformation processes in Databricks (PySpark)
Gather and translate business and technical requirements into data solutions
Integrate data from multiple source systems (e.g. SAP, legacy applications, APIs)
Define and implement data transformation logic and business rules
Support and coordinate data cleansing activities with stakeholders
Execute data migration processes and deliver structured datasets
Ensure data quality, validation, and monitoring across pipelines
Contribute to data warehouse / lakehouse design and modelling

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with:

Azure Data Factory

Azure Databricks (PySpark)

ETL / ELT pipeline development

Experience working on data migration or data integration projects
Strong understanding of data transformation and data quality processes
Experience with data modelling (star schema / dimensional modelling)
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Fluent Spanish (mandatory) & English
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Comfortable working with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
