Lead Quality Inspector

Description:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Quality Inspectors, coordinating daily activities, schedules, and workflows.
  • Support inspectors in following work procedures, accurate work-order clocking, and meeting performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Shipping, Receiving, Production, Quality Engineering, and Planning to resolve bottlenecks and support business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by maintaining organized work areas and implementing 5S practices.
  • Develop and implement training programs to build a skilled, cross-functional inspector workforce.
  • Perform and oversee in-process, final, and First Article Inspections using metrology tools, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot challenging production issues and determine the best path forward using quality principles and technical knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace, defense, military, or high-reliability hardware testing environment.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access controlled data.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-standard aerospace or defense environments is preferred.
  • Hands-on inspection experience with structural, avionics, or propulsion manufacturing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or guiding teams in civilian manufacturing or military aviation/maintenance environments is preferred.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications using ASME Y14.5 GD&T is preferred.
  • Experience using precision hand tools and CMM equipment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to multitask between production checks and formal FAIs is preferred.
