Environmental Technician (Industrial Hygiene)

<strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Perform industrial hygiene-related service including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold and indoor air quality assessments.</li><li>Perform air and bulk media sampling.</li><li>Monitor remediation and abatement of contaminated or hazardous building materials. </li><li>Progressive learning about field sampling of various media while working both indoors and outdoors. </li><li>Daily communication with other ECS staff, project managers, and jobsite representatives. </li><li>Interface with contractors and other site personnel on project sites daily. </li><li>Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested. </li><li>Understanding of relevant field sampling techniques, sample collection, and analytical result reporting. </li><li>Calibration and use of sampling equipment, and documentation of results. </li><li>Additional duties may include report production, daily field reporting, and other related tasks. </li><li>Obtain relevant certifications as required to perform specific job duties. </li><li>Conduct assessments for soil and groundwater. Other duties as assigned. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required. </li><li>Two-Year and/or Four-Year Degree in Health and Safety, and/or Environmental Science is preferred. </li><li>Prior related experience in industrial hygiene is required</li><li>Must have active or expired relevant certifications such as Asbestos Inspector and/or Project Monitor</li><li>Necessary job-related training and certifications will be provided by ECS. </li><li>If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required. </li><li>Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills And Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>The ability to work independently is expected. </li><li>Strong verbal and written skills. </li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds several times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains. </li><li>Must be able to climb ladders. </li><li>Ability to complete daily field reports detailing site activities and observations with directions and training provided. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Military Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>The following US Military ranks would qualify for this position:</li><ul><li>E-4<br></li></ul></ul>ECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
