The person in this role will serve as MissionWired’s primary technical lead on email deliverability: monitoring account health, identifying risks before they become crises, leading mitigation efforts when performance declines, and translating complex technical signals into clear recommendations for internal teams and clients. You will operate at the intersection of technical infrastructure, campaign strategy, and client service.</p> <p>This is an ideal opportunity for someone with deep experience managing deliverability in high-volume environments and who understands that inbox placement is mission-critical to fundraising, advocacy, mobilization, and revenue performance. </p> <p>If you’re excited about helping our teams stay proactive and strategic about email deliverability, we want to hear from you!</p> <p><strong><br><br></strong></p> <p></p><p><br></p><b>Successful candidates will be responsible for:</b><ul> <li>Proactively monitoring deliverability health across a roster of 60+ nonprofit and political clients, identifying reputation issues, inbox placement dips, authentication failures, and blocklist risks before they affect campaign performance;</li> <li>Serving as MissionWired’s lead technical resource on deliverability incidents, including diagnosing root causes and recommending practical, time-sensitive next steps;</li> <li>Leading mitigation efforts with mailbox providers, ESPs, and external partners;</li> <li>Reviewing and advising on email authentication and sending infrastructure, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, alignment, domain configuration, and related sender requirements;</li> <li>Using Inbox Monster and/or comparable deliverability platforms (Everest/Validity) to interpret inbox placement, reputation, complaint, and seed-test data and convert it into actionable recommendations for client teams;</li> <li>Advising internal teams and clients on best practices;</li> <li>Partnering with client-facing teams to explain technical issues and join client conversations as needed;</li> <li>Helping teams distinguish between technical infrastructure problems, list-quality issues, content-related issues, and broader sender-reputation challenges;</li> <li>Building repeatable processes, documentation, and internal guidance;</li> <li>Training and mentoring internal team members on email deliverability fundamentals, emerging sender requirements, and common warning signs;</li> <li>Serving as the primary relationship manager for deliverability-related vendor coordination;</li> <li>Supporting best-practice planning for high-volume fundraising and advocacy moments.</li> </ul><p><br></p><b>Must-have qualifications:</b><ul> <li>4+ years of direct, hands-on experience in email deliverability, preferably in an agency or other high-volume sending environment;</li> <li>Demonstrated success diagnosing and problem solving for deliverability issues, authentication failures, and mailbox-provider escalation scenarios;</li> <li>Deep working knowledge of email authentication and sender infrastructure, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, alignment, and current bulk-sender expectations from major mailbox providers;</li> <li>Strong experience with deliverability monitoring and reputation tools, ideally Inbox Monster, or similar platforms such as Everest/Validity;</li> <li>Ability to interpret technical deliverability signals and recommend actions under tight timelines;</li> <li>Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical internal stakeholders and clients;</li> <li>Experience working cross-functionally with strategists, email production teams, account teams, and vendors;</li> <li>Strong judgment and responsiveness in fast-moving environments where campaign timing and inbox performance are business-critical;</li> <li>Comfort working independently as a consultant while still collaborating effectively with internal teams.</li> </ul><p><br></p><b>Nice-to-have qualifications:</b><ul> <li>Experience supporting nonprofit, advocacy, or political email programs, especially environments with rapid-response fundraising, list growth, and high volume;</li> <li>Familiarity with the pressures of campaign-season sending, including high-frequency messaging, urgent mobilization, and large list segments with varied engagement quality;</li> <li>Experience working with client-facing strategy teams and participating directly in external client meetings;</li> <li>Working knowledge of major tools used in digital fundraising programs;</li> <li>Experience developing internal training materials that improve team self-sufficiency;</li> <li>Familiarity with seed testing and broader sender reputation diagnostics;</li> <li>Ability to spot patterns across multiple client accounts and recommend preventive strategies.</li> </ul><p><br></p><p></p> <p> </p><p>Pay rate for this role is $55 - $75/hour depending on experience, up to 15 hours per week. </p> <p></p> <p> </p><p><br></p><p><i>If you feel you can do the job and are excited about this opportunity but are not sure if you meet all the qualifications, consider applying anyway.
