Distance Education Manager & Curriculum Content Developer

Position Overview

Kelbert University is seeking a motivated, experienced, and mission-driven Distance Education Manager and Curriculum Content Developer to join our academic team. This is a combined, high-impact role at a growing Florida-licensed institution actively pursuing national accreditation. The individual in this position will serve as the primary manager of our Canvas LMS platform while simultaneously leading curriculum development efforts across all programs.

This person will work directly with academic leadership, faculty, and the Registrar to ensure that every course and program is delivered effectively, compliantly, and in alignment with the institution's academic standards. Position Details

Position Title: Distance Education Manager & Curriculum Content Developer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Miami Lakes, FL

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Reports To: VP of Academic Affairs / Director of the Registrar

Key Responsibilities

Canvas LMS Administration & Distance Education Delivery
  • Manage and maintain the Canvas LMS platform for all active courses and programs (currently 10+ active courses)
  • Set up course shells each semester with correct structure, content, and enrollment configurations
  • Enroll and manage student accounts, course sections, and faculty access across all programs
  • Monitor and apply Canvas system updates, patches, and platform changes in a timely manner
  • Serve as the primary technical resource and support contact for faculty on all Canvas tools and features
  • Support integration between Canvas and CoreCampus Student Information System
  • Generate LMS reports and analytics on course activity, student engagement, and system performance
  • Ensure all programs maintain at least 51 percent distance education delivery in accordance with accreditation standards
  • Coordinate the posting of faculty communications, meeting notices, and professional development materials through Canvas
  • Provide training sessions and documentation for faculty on Canvas best practices and course delivery standards

Curriculum Content Development
  • Lead curriculum development for new and existing programs, ensuring all content is grounded in distance education instructional design principles
  • Design and revise syllabi, course content, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials in alignment with student learning outcomes
  • Apply Bloom's Taxonomy and evidence-based pedagogical frameworks to all course and program design work
  • Collaborate with qualified faculty and academic leadership to ensure program content aligns with industry standards and accreditation requirements
  • Review and update curriculum on a periodic basis incorporating performance data, faculty feedback, and student outcomes
  • Maintain organized curriculum files and documentation required for accreditation review, including the institution's Curriculum Development Guide
  • Support translation and localization of curriculum materials for Spanish-language course offerings
  • Assist with the development of new program proposals and Educational Offering Reports as needed
Compliance & Accreditation Support
  • Assist with LMS-related and curriculum-related documentation required for accreditation and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with the Registrar's office on enrollment verification, grade workflow management, and records accuracy
  • Track and manage Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for faculty professional development
  • Support preparation of materials for the institution's Self-Evaluation Report and related exhibits

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Distance Education, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience administering Canvas LMS
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development in a higher education setting
  • Working knowledge of instructional design principles, Bloom's Taxonomy, and online learning best practices
