Construction and Facilities Project Manager

<p><strong>Great American Restaurants</strong> is seeking an experienced <strong>Construction & Facilities Project Manager</strong> to lead construction projects and support ongoing facilities maintenance for our growing company. This hands-on field role oversees daily jobsite activity, coordinates contractors, monitors progress and quality, and ensures all work meets GAR standards. The position also supports the Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) program to ensure that construction and maintenance activities are executed efficiently and maintain the highest level of operational readiness.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Construction & Project Execution</strong></p><ul><li>Manage construction buildouts from planning through final closeout, overseeing scheduling, contractor coordination, field execution, quality control, and turnover to Operations.</li><li>Serve as the primary onsite leader for construction, remodels, and special projects, providing regular progress updates to Construction and Operations teams.</li><li>Oversee daily site operations, including contractor supervision, scheduling, quality control, adherence to plans, and compliance with safety standards.</li><li>Conduct milestone site walks, verify alignment with design intent, and escalate issues promptly.</li><li>Support permitting activities, inspections, and punchlist completion.</li><li>Collaborate with Construction, Operations, architects, engineers, and design partners to resolve field conditions and improve constructability.</li></ul><p><strong>Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) Support</strong></p><ul><li>Participate in and support the R&M program across all restaurants by identifying facility needs and coordinating solutions.</li><li>Troubleshoot building systems, food service equipment, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) components.</li><li>Provide informed recommendations regarding repair vs. replacement for major systems and equipment.</li><li>Contribute to annual R&M budget development through field‑based assessments and cost insights.</li><li>Support restaurant managers and maintenance personnel with guidance on maintenance best practices and escalation procedures.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality, Cost, & Asset Protection</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure all construction and repair work meets GAR standards for quality, durability, and long-term asset protection.</li><li>Source and coordinate vendors and contractors for small projects and maintenance tasks, emphasizing competitive bidding and high-quality execution.</li><li>Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Construction to ensure timely communication regarding project status, restaurant impacts, repair timelines, and cost considerations.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of construction methods, commercial building systems, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.</li><li>Hands-on experience coordinating subcontractors and managing day-to-day field activities.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose field issues and implement practical solutions.</li><li>Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with contractors, operations teams, and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial construction, facilities maintenance, or a related field; restaurant or hospitality experience strongly preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary: $150,000 - $175,000</li><li>3 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) to start plus 6 additional holidays</li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance</li><li>401(k) with generous employer match</li><li>Monthly dining card</li><li>Gym and educational reimbursement</li></ul>
